The one-liner

A low-cost piano group for adult learners stuck on sight-reading and practice habits.

What they actually sell

Le Chéile Music Piano Group is run by Leah Murphy. Its own pitch: "Learn piano with effective methods that build real skill and faster progress, while avoiding the obstacles most adults face." The public offer sits at $7 a month. A free trial sits on the join path. Highlights listed on the page include Time to stop the struggle, Beginners to advanced and Led by a teacher with 20+ years teaching experience & degrees in music and psychology. Inside sit 26 courses. The page does not spell out a money-back promise.

Who pays and why

Adult piano learners doing all the right things and still finding it hard to read music. The embarrassment is years of lessons and slow progress. They pay for practice methods that actually work for adults and a group that keeps them at the keys.

Where the members come from

Leah Murphy's YouTube, Instagram, Facebook and website presence appears to feed the room. The Skool community reads as the member back end for people already drawn to that work. Exact follower counts stay off the public page.

What's holding it back

A very low price leaves little room for personal attention, so progress depends on members doing the practice alone.

Steal this

Name the adult learner's exact stuck point, such as sight-reading, and sell the community as the fix for that one thing.

Would this work in another niche?

Yes for other adult-learner instruments such as violin. Weak for kids' lessons where parents buy something else.

“I love this group even though so far I haven’t used many of the features but what I love is it got me to finally start recording myself which I was procrastinating about. Playing under a camera is like recital preparation with do-overs and recitals always feel good when you don’t mess up. Going forward I will probably do more Audacity sessions if I get up my courage.”

“As an adult beginner, it’s easy to be completely overwhelmed by the sheer amount of “stuff” available at a fingertip. Having worked through a number of Le Cheile YouTube videos and feeling comfortable with Leah’s clarity and approach, I took the plunge of becoming a member and I’m very glad I have. There is the great benefit of online group classes, lot’s of materials/ resources for when time allows(!) and a welcoming and supportive community of other learners. I’m here for the long run😀”

“Why do I enjoy Le Cheile music? Group and private lessons- A ton of resources available on video for learning( sight reading, rhythm, practice techniques)- Weekly courses (Piano Lab, practice boot camps)- Practice partner sessions- Sessions to help with performance anxiety- Masterclasses To just name a few. The community section is also supportive and helps me learn. Leah participates in the conversations, which is helpful.”

“Being with the original Le Chiele Group for a few of years was a great experience, however, it doesn't compare with this new environment. Meeting other people who are working through the same struggles helps to boost the drive to continue. The enjoyment of reading the posts; having some fun; rooting for members in their wins; and understanding their frustrations that often match your own. I am continually amazed at how Leah's teaching and guidance ideas seem to grow exponentially.”
