Teardown notes

The one-liner

A paid speech and language programme where a paediatric SLP teaches mums to help their child talk at home.

What they actually sell

Amanda Teaches Talking, run by Amanda Owens, lives on Skool. Its public pitch: "Teach your child to talk at home with live speech and language classes, replays, practical tools and parent support from a pediatric SLP." Membership costs $29 a month. Members start with the 7-Day More Words Challenge, then move into the 8-Week Teach Talking Program, more than 15 live classes each month, Talk and Play classes with replays and an activity library, and a weekly Q&A with Amanda. Articulation and myo classes come as a bonus. Amanda brings 14 years of experience and more than 700 children helped, and the page is careful to say it is educational support, not individual therapy. Inside sit 10 courses and a dense module library. A formal money-back promise is not spelled out on the about page.

Who pays and why

Mums of toddlers and young children who want simple, play-based ways to get their child talking more. The worry is their child falling behind on words and not knowing what to practise next. They pay for live Talk and Play classes, an eight-week programme and weekly Q&A with an experienced paediatric SLP.

Where the members come from

Amanda Owens's Instagram, Facebook and website presence appears to feed the room. The Skool community reads as the member back end for people already drawn to that work. Exact follower counts stay off the public page.

What's holding it back

A monthly fee competes with free speech tips online. If parents do not see new words quickly, the membership is easy to cancel.

Steal this

Open with a seven-day challenge that gives parents a quick win before the longer programme starts.

Would this work in another niche?

Yes for other parent-led therapies such as feeding, fine motor skills or sleep. Weak for skills that need a clinician hands-on.
