The one-liner

A cosy community for knitters who want friends and help away from social media noise.

What they actually sell

mairlynd, run by Melanie Berg, lives on Skool. Its public pitch: "A cozy home for knitters." It is free to join. The page lists Video lessons, Row Map walkthroughs, technique tips, and little things that make knitting easier, and live knit-togethers, Q&As, and plenty of time to hang out and chat. Inside sit 5 courses and a dense module library. The public page keeps the promise practical and specific rather than vague networking talk.

Who pays and why

Hobbyists who want company while they practise, not another lonely tutorial tab. The itch is starting projects and never finishing them alone. They join for peer support and a place to keep practising with others. mairlynd is sold as a place to do the work with others, not to collect another login.

Where the members come from

Melanie Berg's Instagram, Facebook and website presence appears to feed the room. The Skool community reads as the member back end for people already drawn to that work. Exact follower counts stay off the public page.

What's holding it back

If live energy fades, members who came for company will treat it as another course tab.

Steal this

Run a hobby community around weekly making together, not only a content library.

Would this work in another niche?

Yes for other skill hobbies with weekly making together. Weak for passive content libraries.
