The one-liner

A no-fluff Circle for freelance L&D pros who want peers, pricing help, and weekly connection.

What they actually sell

L&D Free Spirits is Kim Ellis's community for self-employed trainers, facilitators, coaches, learning designers, and OD folk. Public pricing lands around $40.83 a month or $408.34 a year. Inside: a private forum, weekly Friday Fiesta networking calls, expert-led sessions, and access to Kim. Members ready to push harder can book a free ninety-minute deep dive with her. Founded in 2024. The page does not advertise a long trial window beyond that deep-dive offer.

Who pays and why

People who left (or want to leave) corporate L&D and suddenly have no manual for pricing, clients, or portfolio work. Loneliness is the real product problem. They pay to stop inventing freelance life alone and to borrow language from peers who already bill independently.

Where the members come from

Kim's own independent training practice is the obvious front door. Social counts are not on the Discover page, so growth likely rides her L&D network, referrals, and Circle Discover rather than a big public media brand.

What's holding it back

A young, niche community can feel quiet between Friday calls. If the deep dive becomes the only high-touch moment, monthly members may wonder what the rest of the month is for.

Steal this

Pair a weekly ritual call with a free founder deep dive so newcomers feel known before the subscription has to prove itself.

Would this work in another niche?

Yes for other specialist freelancers such as UX researchers or instructional designers outside L&D. Weak for general solopreneur clubs that already flood that market.
