Teardown notes
The one-liner
A free swim community led by an Olympian for swimmers at every level.
What they actually sell
SWM (FREE) is run by Jack McMillan. Its own pitch: "Free community of swimmers at any level." The public offer is free to join. Inside sit 11 courses. The offer is easy to understand in one read, which is half the job of a sales page.
Who pays and why
Competitive swimmers, masters, triathletes, swim parents and beginners. The pull is getting faster with guidance from an Olympian. They join for a community of swimmers and lessons on getting faster. The emotional pull is being around people chasing the same thing, which matters as much as any single lesson. SWM (FREE) gives them one place to bring that problem every week.
Where the members come from
The page links Jack McMillan's a website, so the community reads as the paid back end of an audience that already exists. Content does the attracting and the group does the keeping. Jack McMillan's profile line reads: "I am an Olympian helping swimmers get faster and connect with other swimmers around the world." Jack McMillan stays the visible face of the brand on the page.
What's holding it back
The page is short, so the value inside is hard to see before joining.
Steal this
Welcome swim parents alongside swimmers, so the room grows through families.
Would this work in another niche?
Yes for any youth sport, like gymnastics. Weak for adult-only hobbies.
