Teardown notes

The one-liner

A Skool community for tournament bass anglers, from kayak to bass boat, free to start with paid tiers.

What they actually sell

Fish like a Pro, run by Lance Burris, lives on Skool. Its public pitch: "Everything fishing, especially tournaments." A free tier sits at the front door, with Premium and VIP upgrades above it. Lance Burris travels more than 10,000 miles a year fishing bass tournaments on different waters, and wants to share what has made him successful. He frames himself as a personal trainer for bass fishing, covering kayak and bass boat fishing with a focus on tournaments. Inside sit 2 courses. A formal money-back promise is not spelled out on the about page.

Who pays and why

Bass anglers who fish tournaments, or want to, and want to be more competitive. The frustration is knowing the basics and still not placing. They join for tournament knowledge from someone who fishes many different waters every year.

Where the members come from

Lance Burris's Instagram and Facebook presence appears to feed the room. The Skool community reads as the member back end for people already drawn to that work. Exact follower counts stay off the public page.

What's holding it back

The public page is short and does not explain what Premium or VIP includes, so anglers have little to go on before upgrading.

Steal this

Call yourself a personal trainer for your hobby, so members expect coaching rather than content.

Would this work in another niche?

Yes for other competitive hobbies such as clay shooting or chess tournaments. Weak for purely relaxing pastimes.
