First Novel Academy

First Novel Academy is for new writers. Find the accountability, feedback and know-how to finish and publish your book.

Why you should join: A free writing community with feedback, accountability and guidance on the craft and business of becoming an author.

The one-liner

A free community helping new writers finish and publish their first novel.

What they actually sell

First Novel Academy is run by Max Gorlov. The headline pitch reads: "The #1 community for new writers - find accountability, feedback and all the knowledge you'll ever need to succeed as an author." The public offer is free to join. Inside sit 10 courses. Anyone copying this should notice that the sale rests on one clear outcome rather than a long feature list.

Who pays and why

New writers with a half-finished manuscript. The pain is never getting to the end, and not knowing what to do once they do. They join for accountability buddies, feedback swaps, video courses and a monthly live expert class. The emotional pull is being around people chasing the same thing, which matters as much as any single lesson.

Where the members come from

The page links no outside channels, so most members probably find it through Skool's own discovery and word of mouth. That puts a lot of weight on the about page itself, which has to do the whole selling job.

What's holding it back

Free feedback swaps depend on members giving as much as they take. The paid editing path behind Max is not spelled out on the page.

Steal this

Pair members as accountability buddies so finishing feels like a promise to someone else.

Would this work in another niche?

Yes for any long solo project, like a thesis or album. Weak for quick wins.
