Steal this

  • 2 paid tiers: one price for access, another for proximity. Worth copying once you know which members want more of you.
  • The price is only shown after you click through. Hiding it is a choice: it filters for people already sold on the owner.

The one-liner

A Skool photo challenge club that gets parents into the family pictures, one project a month.

What they actually sell

Family Story Club, run by Jess McDaniel, lives on Skool. Its public pitch: "A monthly photo challenge for parents who love photos but are never in them." A free tier sits at the front door, with Premium and VIP upgrades above it. Jess has spent 23 years photographing families. The free tier gives a monthly photo challenge tailored to a child's age, seasonal ideas, gift guides and discussion. Premium adds a monthly coaching call, step-by-step photo guidance, baby and toddler photo plans, a searchable class vault and an editing kit. VIP adds hotseat calls for personal photo feedback, a grandparent legacy project, a holiday card edition, a posing guide and a summer challenge. Upcoming dates for each call are listed on the page. Inside sit 16 courses and a dense module library. A formal money-back promise is not spelled out on the about page.

Who pays and why

Parents who take thousands of photos of their children but appear in almost none. The quiet pain is realising their kids will have few pictures of them together. They join for a monthly themed photo challenge with coaching, photo plans and personal feedback at higher tiers.

Where the members come from

The Skool lander and Jess McDaniel's own teaching appear to be the main acquisition path. Public social links are thin on the about page, so growth reads as community-led rather than a giant media brand. Exact follower counts stay off the about page.

What's holding it back

Three tiers and many bonuses make the page busy, and the core idea of one photo a month risks getting lost in the extras.

Steal this

Build the whole community around one small monthly action that members can finish with a phone.

Would this work in another niche?

Yes for any habit people mean to do but never do, such as family recipes or letter writing. Weak where the action needs specialist kit.
