Boots to Books

Boots to Books is for veterans and service members in transition. Achieve post-military success.

Why you should join: A transition masterclass breaking every pain point into bite-sized expert videos, plus support on higher education, applications and certification scholarships. Free to join.

The one-liner

A free Mighty Networks hub from a veterans' charity, with a military transition masterclass and job support.

What they actually sell

Boots to Books lives on Mighty Networks. Its public pitch: "The home of the transition masterclass." It is free to join. Boots to Books is a registered US non-profit. The community holds a transition masterclass that breaks every pain point into bite-sized videos from relevant experts, plus support threads and networking. Around it sit services for higher education, application help and fee coverage, test prep, certification scholarships, virtual hiring fairs with large employers and a monthly newsletter of open roles from recruiters. All services are free for the military community. The Mighty Networks door is the main public surface.

Who pays and why

Veterans, transitioning service members and military spouses facing the move to civilian life. They want education and career help from people who understand the military. They join for a transition masterclass, expert threads and hiring events.

Where the members come from

Partner employers, recruiters and the charity's veteran network are the feeders. Donations fund the work.

What's holding it back

The community is one piece of a large charity offer, so the forum may be quiet next to the hiring fairs and scholarships.

Steal this

Package the scariest transition into short expert videos, so people can tackle it one step at a time.

Would this work in another niche?

Yes for prison leavers, athletes retiring or career changers. Weak where the transition is easy.
