The one-liner
A Skool mentorship and accountability network for Black men working in behaviour analysis.
What they actually sell
BMBA, run by Jeron Trotman, lives on Skool. Its public pitch: "A space for Black men in ABA to connect, grow, and lead." The group shows as free to join, although the copy also asks for a limited-time monthly fee, so the join terms are muddled. The list is long and practical. Members get RBT-only and general monthly meetups, monthly study hall sessions for the BACB exam, mentorship from Black male ABA mentors and a network of supervisors. There are spotlight features for RBTs, resume and LinkedIn reviews, scholarships and travel funding, leadership resources and a discount on Study Notes ABA bundles, plus monthly prizes. Jeron Trotman founded it to grow leadership for and by Black men in the field. Inside sit 4 courses.
Who pays and why
Black men in applied behaviour analysis, from RBTs to supervisors, who rarely see themselves reflected in the field. They want mentors, peers and a clear route through the certification exam. They join for monthly mentorship, exam study halls, job prep and a network of Black male supervisors.
Where the members come from
The Skool lander and Jeron Trotman's own teaching appear to be the main acquisition path. Public social links are thin on the about page, so growth reads as community-led rather than a giant media brand. Exact follower counts stay off the about page.
What's holding it back
Scholarships, travel funding and monthly prizes are generous promises that need a sponsor model the page does not explain. Monthly mentorship also relies on a small pool of senior Black male clinicians giving their time, which caps how fast the network can grow.
Steal this
Bundle a partner's study product discount into membership, so the community pays for itself before the exam.
Would this work in another niche?
Yes for any under-represented group inside a credentialed profession. Weak where the profession is already diverse.
