The one-liner
A free early-access Skool academy bringing a Houston belly dance studio's levelled training online.
What they actually sell
Ahlam Academy, run by Anna Schkade, lives on Skool. Its public pitch: "Explore the art of Egyptian Raqs Sharqi (Belly Dance) thru community, content, and courses with long time dancer and teacher, Anna of Houston." It is free to join. Anna Schkade's programme was previously only available at her Houston studio. Online, students get step-by-step technique, help with musicality and expression, and tools for improvisation, choreography and performance. Students progress through Level 1 to 3 pathways with optional student certifications, and professional and teacher certification tracks are available for advanced dancers. New members are in early access as content is released. Inside sit 9 courses and a dense module library.
Who pays and why
Belly dancers from beginners to performers and aspiring teachers who want structured progression. Many have no local teacher of Egyptian Raqs Sharqi and want a clear path to certification. They join for step-by-step technique, musicality training and levelled certifications.
Where the members come from
The Houston studio and Anna's Ahlam Academy website are the feeders, so early members likely come from her existing students and local dance scene. Follower numbers are not shown.
What's holding it back
Early access means the library is still being built, so new members may find gaps. Everything is currently free, which will make introducing paid certifications later a harder conversation.
Steal this
Turn your in-studio levels into online certifications, so students have a reason to keep progressing remotely.
Would this work in another niche?
Yes for any studio art with grading, such as ballet or martial arts. Weak where certification has no value to students.
